  • We want to foster a fun learning environment that embraces learning from our day-to-day experiences.

In a research lab, scientists have a space that enables them to bring life to new ideas, test and figure out what works and does not, and ultimately, develop skills and knowledge that enables them understand a topic in depth. At the Emotions Lab, we want to replicate the dynamic spirit of a lab to help children learn about themselves and their emotions. Our goal is help children develop and practice a range of effective social and emotional life skills.

Further, at the Emotions Lab, we strive to routinely refine and develop programs that stimulate children to get the most from these tailored learning opportunities.

  • A process through which individuals acquire and practice knowledge, skills, and attitudes to better understand their emotions, feel their emotions, and demonstrate empathy to themselves and others [Res. 3]. The learned behaviors from social and emotional learning aid developing healthy identities, identifying and managing emotions, establishing and maintaining supportive relationships, and making responsible and caring decisions.

  • Open programs are those in which new participants can join at any time, while closed programs are those in which a cohort begins and ends the program at the same time.

  • Depending on the material imparted in our psychoeducation programs, we design courses that promote effective and dynamic learning, for this reason some of our courses are offered as either open and closed.

  • No, they are not. Our evidence-based psychoeducation programs are designed to raise awareness and promote age-appropriate dynamic learning on an array of social and emotional topics, but our program coordinators do not administer clinical interventions to program participants.

  • We strongly believe in proactively caring for the physical and mental health of all children, including those participating in one of our programs. Under an abundance of caution, in the event your child is sick or exhibiting sickness symptoms, we kindly ask that you do not bring your child physically to class; admittance will not be allowed. We hope your child recovers promptly.

If your child misses an in-person or virtual program course because they are sick, we will provide you with a course credit for a future program. Only one course credit will be issued per each registered program; course credits will be valid for 3 months after the issue date. We believe this policy provides ample flexibility for your child and our organization.

  • In the event you wish to cancel your child’s participation in one of our programs, a full reimbursement (100%) will be possible if and only if the cancellation is received two calendar weeks prior to the program start date. If the cancellation occurs less than two calendar weeks prior to the program start date, a partial reimbursement will be made that amounts to 70% of the paid program cost.

Furthermore, if your child attends their first program session and they believe the program may not be what they were expecting, a partial reimbursement can be made that amounts to 40% of the paid program cost; please advise us within 48hrs that you wish to cancel your child’s participation so we may honor this policy. Unfortunately, cancellations taking place after the 48hr time window will not be eligible for reimbursement.

We believe this cancellation policy provides ample flexibility for your family and our organization. At the Emotions Lab, we want your child to enjoy coming to our programs as well as gain positive and meaningful social and emotional learning experiences.

Continue enriching your child’s experiences.
